Our brackets are made much sturdier than most and we do NOT supply the customary small screws. With the variety of applications -- onto brick, stone, vinyl-covered, wood veneer structures, wooden posts, aluminum support posts (mobile homes) and others, we know that you, our customers, will best decide if the connectors should be bolts, screws, or lag screws, depending on your own situation.

Additional info: For either style of bracket -- the overall dimensions of base plate is 3" wide by 4" long and the hole positions are 2 1/2" horizontal (wide) and 3 1/2" vertical (length) with these dimensions being center line to center line. The four holes are 5/16" diameter and we suggest to use 1/4" screws, bolts or lag screws depending on "support" material, such as brick, stone, wood, etc. The larger base plate produces a much stronger, sturdier bracket since the "stress" of a flagpole with flag attached while being whipped by the wind is spread over a greater area. And yes, both are anodized aluminum, all 1/4" thick material, heli-arc welded, machined not stamped nor cast. Just a different look.
